Maryanne Harvey (Floater Teacher/Founder/Director)
Maryanne is a native San Franciscan and mother of 3 children (2 girls and a boy, ages 11, 15 and 20). She holds a B.A. Degree from the University of San Francisco, a M.A. Degree from Oxford University in England and is certified as an Early Childhood Education Site Supervisor and a Master Teacher by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Her Early Childhood Education and Development coursework was completed at USF, Vanguard University and San Francisco City College. With over 26 years of educational and business experience, including experience in teaching, school management, corporate business, elementary school age counseling and youth basketball coaching, she considers it a privilege to work with preschool children and their families. She enjoys being the music teacher for the preschool and pre-k classes and is classically trained in piano, was a church organist and competed at the California state level in both piano and alto saxophone. She passionately believes in play based preschool learning, in process over product, that children should not be sitting for long periods of time during the preschool day and that modeling and teaching empathy, kindness and respect for self and others is highly important.
